paulo has been an adjudicator for several Canadian grant organizations that provide funding to authors, and in his writing career has received numerous writing and research grants from the Canada Council, B.C Arts Council, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development and Access Copyright.

The workshop will be organized in 5 steps to ensure optimal preparation for a successful grant proposal: organizational preparedness; in-depth research; clear, detailed and succinct writing; rapports; and post-mortem.

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

paulo da costa is a writer, editor and translator living in Canada. He has been an adjudicator for several Canadian grant organizations that provide funding to authors, and in his writing career paulo has received numerous writing and research grants from the Canada Council, B.C Arts Council, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development and Access Copyright.

He is the recipient of the 2020 James H. Gray Award for Short Nonfiction, the 2003 Commonwealth First Book Prize for the Canada-Caribbean Region, the W. O. Mitchell City of Calgary Book Prize and the Canongate Prize for short-fiction. His poetry, fiction and non-fiction have been published widely in literary magazines around the world and translated into Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Slovenian and Portuguese.
